RenewalKit (“the App”) is a document expiration reminder application developed by emonster, inc. (“we”, “our”, or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you use the App and how that information is used, stored, and disclosed.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you consent to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please discontinue use and uninstall the App.

1. Information We Collect

The App does not require you to create an account and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or precise GPS location.

We only process the following limited categories of information.

1.1 Device & App Information (Non-Personal)

When you use the App, certain technical information may be processed automatically, such as:

Device model and operating system version;
Language, region, and time zone settings;
App version and build number;
General technical and diagnostic data relevant to app stability and feature usage.

This information is used to operate, secure, and improve the App and does not directly identify you by name, email address, phone number, or precise location.

1.2 Anonymous Analytics, Diagnostics, and Crash Reports

By default, RenewalKit enables a member-facing setting called Anonymous Analytics. While this setting is enabled, the App may send limited telemetry to trusted service providers to help us understand feature usage, diagnose problems, and improve reliability.

These services may include:

Firebase Analytics – app launches, screen views, settings changes, purchase lifecycle events, and other general product-usage signals;
Firebase Crashlytics – crash logs, stack traces, error codes, app version, OS version, and device model needed to diagnose failures;
Mixpanel – anonymous product analytics and engagement events used to understand feature usage and improve the product.

To help attribute diagnostics to a single installation of the App without identifying a real person, RenewalKit may generate and store a random pseudonymous installation identifier on the device. This identifier is used only to correlate analytics or crash events from the same app installation. It is not your name, email address, phone number, Apple ID, advertising identifier, or a precise hardware identifier.

We design our telemetry to avoid sending document content. RenewalKit does not intentionally include document images, scanned OCR text, document titles, issuer names, document numbers, or expiration dates in analytics or crash-report payloads.

1.3 Advertising

RenewalKit does not display in-app advertising, does not sell personal data, and does not use analytics data for interest-based advertising.

1.4 iCloud Sync

If you choose to enable iCloud Sync in the App’s settings, RenewalKit may use Apple CloudKit to synchronize supported app data across your devices. This synchronization occurs within Apple’s ecosystem and is subject to Apple’s terms and privacy practices.

1.5 Third-Party Analytics & Diagnostics Services

When Anonymous Analytics is enabled, the App may use a limited number of third-party analytics and diagnostics services to help us understand performance, stability, and feature usage.

Firebase Analytics – anonymous usage analytics;
Firebase Crashlytics – anonymous crash and diagnostics reporting;
Mixpanel – anonymous product analytics and engagement reporting.

These services help us maintain and improve RenewalKit. They are not used by us for interest-based advertising, brokered data sales, or cross-app tracking.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information we process for the following purposes:

To operate and maintain the App;
To understand how the App is used and improve performance, reliability, and feature quality;
To diagnose crashes, bugs, and technical issues;
To protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats;
To support optional iCloud synchronization when you choose to enable it.

We do not:

Create advertising profiles;
Sell your data to third parties;
Track your activity across other apps or websites for marketing.

3. How Your Information Is Shared

We may share limited information with:

3.1 Service Providers

We use trusted third-party service providers to help us operate the App, including:

Firebase Analytics for anonymous usage analytics;
Firebase Crashlytics for anonymous crash reporting;
Mixpanel for anonymous product analytics;
Apple CloudKit, if you enable iCloud Sync, to synchronize supported app data across your own devices.

These providers process information on our behalf and are not allowed to use it for their own independent marketing purposes in the context of this App.

3.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

Comply with a legal obligation, court order, or governmental request;
Protect and defend our rights or property;
Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the App;
Protect the personal safety of users of the App or the public.

3.3 Aggregated or De-Identified Data

We may use and share aggregated or de-identified data (which does not identify you) for analytics, research, or improving our products.

4. Children’s Privacy

RenewalKit is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country).

If you believe we have accidentally collected personal information from a child, please contact us at privacy@emonster.com, and we will take steps to address the issue promptly.

5. Your Choices & Controls

You have several options to control privacy-related behavior:

Device Settings: You can manage permissions and notification settings through your device settings.
Anonymous Analytics Toggle: You can turn Anonymous Analytics on or off at any time in the App’s settings. When turned off, RenewalKit stops sending future anonymous analytics, diagnostics, and crash reports from that device. Data already processed before the change is not affected.
Uninstalling the App: You can stop App-related data collection by uninstalling the App from your device.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

RenewalKit is a native mobile application and does not use browser cookies inside the App itself. However, third-party SDKs such as Firebase and Mixpanel may use device-stored identifiers or pseudonymous installation identifiers to provide their services, measure performance, and help diagnose issues.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we process in connection with the App. However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Data Transfers

The App and its supporting third-party services may be operated from, or store data on servers located in the United States or other countries. If Anonymous Analytics is enabled, the limited telemetry described in this Policy may be processed in those locations, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after such changes take effect will constitute acceptance of the revised policy.
